Belsky Piano Competition co-presented by
Litchfield Performing Arts & Asylum Hill Congregational Church
The 11th Simone Belsky
Competition will be held in the fall of 2007. The award is
open to pianists over 30 years of age who are committed to pursuing a
performance career. The award consists of a $2000 cash prize and
performance opportunities for the winner.
Simone Belsky was a friend and advisor to Litchfield Performing Arts,
who founded the award in 1984 upon her untimely passing at the age of
just 51. A remarkable woman, Simone made her New York recital debut at
the age of 47 in a field where most “debutants” are decades younger.
From then on, she performed continuously, in New England, New York and
abroad.
For an application please call Steve Mitchell at Asylum Hill
Congregational Church 860-525-5696 or via email.
